Prague Vaclav Havel

Prague, Czech Republic

About The Airport

Prague Airport is the Czech Republic's busiest - it's named for the country's celebrated first president Václav Havel. There are 2 main passenger terminals – Terminal 2 is for flights within the Schengen area, while Terminal 1 is used for flights that are not - along with Terminal 3, which is for private flights and state visits.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport.

Getting to and from the airport

The airport is 12km from downtown Prague.

Taxi - there are plenty of taxis for hire outside the Arrivals halls of both main passenger terminals.

Bus - bus services connect the airport with different parts of Prague. The Airport Express goes directly to the main railway station, while other buses run to the metro stations at Veleslavin and Zlicin. Long-distance coaches stop at Terminal 1, Parking Lot C.

Hotel shuttle - a courtesy shuttle is available to the nearby Holiday Inn and Ramada Airport Hotel.

Car rental - around half a dozen car rental agencies operate from the ground floor of Parking Lot C.

There are a mixture of open air and covered parking lots within a 3-minute walk of the terminals. 4 of these are long-term lots while the remaining 2 are for short-term parking. There are also separate outdoor parking areas (designated Express) for cars making quick stops to pick up or drop off travelers - the first 15 minutes here are free. Disabled passengers carrying ID are eligible to use the parking facilities free of charge.

Transit and in-airport hotels

A minibus takes travelers between the 2 main passenger terminals but the distance can also be walked via a passenger corridor.

While there is no hotel within the airport itself, the Courtyard Prague Airport is conveniently located between Terminals 1 and 2.

Healthy Travel Tip

While there's an abundance of well-stocked pharmacies in Prague, most pharmacists will be reluctant to issue any foreign prescriptions. To be on the safe side, collect any medication you may need before leaving your home country.

We do our best to keep these guides as up-to-date as possible, but cannot guarantee that they fully reflect the current state of every airport, where changes can happen frequently and without notice. Please contact us with any feedback.
