Getting to and from the airport

The airport is just 9km from downtown Edinburgh.

Taxi - licensed and metered black taxis are available on the ground floor of the multistory parking lot, opposite the terminal building.

Bus - Airport Link 100 runs every 10 minutes between the airport and Waverley Bridge in downtown Edinburgh (near the main bus and train station). Several other routes offer both local and regional connections.

Train - a frequent tram service operates from the airport to central Edinburgh. You can buy tickets from machines at the tram stop.

Hotel shuttle - a free shuttle bus runs from the airport to the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel. Another bus serves the Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Airport - there's a small charge for this service.

Car rental - car rental agencies are based in the Car Rental Center behind the multistory parking lot.

Healthy Travel Tip

When it comes to jet lag, the direction of travel makes a difference. To acclimatize yourself before you go, try waking up and going to bed later than usual if you're travelling west. If you're travelling east, wake up earlier and go to bed earlier.

We do our best to keep these guides as up-to-date as possible, but cannot guarantee that they fully reflect the current state of every airport, where changes can happen frequently and without notice. Please contact us with any feedback.
