About The Airport

Zurich is a glossy, efficient airport that is Switzerland's largest international facility. Before Security, Travellers pass through the Airport Center, which includes a shopping mall and the check-in areas. After Security, the Airside Center offers bars, restaurants and more retail and duty-free outlets, which brings the store total to more than 75 across the airport. The Departures area is divided into 3 gate sections - A, B/D and E. Zurich was voted 13th place by Condé Nast Traveller readers in the Best Airports of the World 2017 and came 9th in the Skytrax World Airport Awards, 2018.

Free Wi-Fi is available at the airport for 2 hours.

The airport is 13km from central Zurich.

Taxi - taxis can be found outside Arrivals.

Bus - 16 bus routes serve Zurich Airport's large bus terminal. Special services operate in winter to take skiers directly to Alpine resorts.

Train - Zurich Airport railway station is one of the best connected in Switzerland, with direct services to several hundred destinations.

Tram - the Glattalbahn Tram serves the airport along two routes, one running to Zurich Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) every 7-15 minutes, and the other running to Stettbach station every 15 minutes.

Hotel shuttle - there are free shuttle buses to many nearby hotels including the Holiday Inn Express Zurich Airport and the NH Zurich Airport.

Car rental - car rental desks are at the Airport Center, Level 1.

Limousine - you can order in advance using the airport's partner companies.

Multistory car parks P1 (Check-in 1 and Arrival 1), P2 (Check-in 2 and Arrival 2) and P3 (Check-in 3) are linked to the main airport building. Valet parking and car washing is also available.

Travelers wanting to park for 3 days or more will find car park P6 better value - it's a 5-minute walk from the terminal via covered walkway.

Gate E is connected to the Airside Center via underground Skymetro.

There's a Transit Hotel in the transit area of Gates B/D. Alternatively, the Radisson Blu Hotel Zurich Airport is connected to the airport terminal by walkway. The hotel's Angels Wine Tower Bar, where acrobats swoop up a transparent tower to fetch bottles of wine for guests, is a sight to be seen.
