About The Airport

The only airport in Lebanon, Beirut Rafic Hariri Intl has been in operation on this site since 1954, undergoing numerous renovations and rebuilds. It is directly south of the city and has one main, modern terminal with four floors and east and west wings for departure gates. Although a relatively small airport compared to those of wealthier regional nations, it was named the 10th best airport in the Middle East in the 2016 Skytrax annual awards.

Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available for 30 minutes in internet kiosks and hotspots around the terminal building after Check-in. For dedicated Wi-Fi services, head to a Priority Pass lounge.

Getting to and from the airport

Beirut Rafic Hariri is 9km from Beirut city center.

Taxi - taxis are available next to the terminal at Arrivals and certified taxis have the airport logo on the side of the vehicle. If the taxi isn't metered, it's best to negotiate the fare before you start your journey.

Hotel shuttle - most international hotel chains will offer an airport transportation service for a fee, including the Kempinski Summerland, Hilton Metropolitan and Hilton Habtoor. If you're on a budget, taxis may be a cheaper option.

Car rental - around 7 local and international car hire companies operate at the airport. Kiosks are on Level 1 of the Arrivals hall.

Short- and long-stay parking is available in the open-air parking lot, with valet and car wash services available at a cost. There's a pedestrian tunnel between the parking lot and the terminal building.

Transit is straightforward at this single-terminal airport.

There are no in-airport hotels, and no hotels within walking distance of the airport.

Security at the airport is tight and lines can move slowly, so plan to get there at least 3 hours before your flight departs.

Anticipate rush-hour traffic delays during peak travel hours, especially during the summer holidays.
