The Madrid Adolfo Suarez-Barajas Airport is the main international airport serving Madrid and it is the second-largest airport in Europe by physical size behind Paris–Charles de Gaulle Airport. In 2019, 61.8 million passengers travelled through the airport, making it the country's busiest airport as well as Europe's sixth-busiest.

Terminal 4 has a delectable selection of international cuisine including Spanish, French and Japanese eateries to name a few. A grill restaurant in the terminal entertains you while you eat with their large show cooking area.

Madrid Airport Terminal 4 is home to the biggest duty free store in all of Spain and also boasts international brands like Puma, Zara and Caroline Herrera. More than 60 shops are guaranteed to satisfy the keen shopper!

About Our Lounge At Madrid Adolfo Suarez-Barajas Airport

The Plaza Mayor lounge offers a bright and comfortable space in which to while away the time before you depart on your travels. With a variety of seating options and big windows with views of the terminal, you can sit back and enjoy the wide variety of food items and drinks available while people-watching or making use of the wi-fi. If you are between flights and are looking to freshen up, there are lovely shower facilities available. This lounge is open daily from 5am to 10pm. Guests may access the facility three hours before their flight departs and are required to present a valid boarding pass for same day travel. Children aged five years and under are admitted free and children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Location And Accessibility

The Plaza Mayor lounge in Madrid Terminal 4 can be found on the first floor, next to the AENA exhibition room. Only guests travelling on Schengen flights have access to this lounge.


Stop off and have a drink or a bite to eat at one of the cafés in Arrivals before making your way on to your final destination.

There's a newsstand in the public area of Arrivals, plus duty-free stores near Baggage Reclaim.
